My name is Ellie Todd and I am 18 years old. I’ve been jumping BSJA since the age of 14 when I started on 148s. I had three ponies called Chalky, Jim and Midnight. All three ponies started me off jumping British novice – self-producing them up to jumping all the HOYs second rounds, being placed and making the final round on a few occasions.
I was placed at the National Championships on my youngest pony Jim out of 100+ starters with only 9 getting through to the jump-off. Lastly, I went on to win the POYS DEBUT at Scope which was my final show on ponies. Moving on from ponies, we then started to search for MY perfect horse. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for when I started my search but I knew my horse would find me. That is when I found Alice. As soon as I sat on her for the very first time I fell in love with her. I never really wanted a tricky mare but Alice and I just fit together.
She has filled me with the confidence from making that hard transition from ponies to horses so much easier. Alice took me around jumping 105cm double clear at the start of my journey on horses to jumping my first international show and being placed at scope in a tough young riders class. We have travelled up and down the country jumping away from home against some of the best in the sport and being successful in what we do.
